Q: What should I expect on my first visit?
A: During your first Naturopathic Evaluation, you should expect a complete medical history, physical exam with vitals, nutritional assessment, laboratory work with possible alternative lab testing, a mind-body analysis, and treatment protocols such as acupuncture, osteo-manipulations, nutritional supplementation, homeopathy or botanical supplementation.
Q: Who sees a Naturopathic Physician and Acupuncturist?
A: Patients who want a safe, natural health answer, to avoid drug side effects, to complement their current medicines, to discover the real reason they are sick, who haven't gotten answers from anyone else, who believe the mind can influence the body, and many more seekers of true health.
Q: What training does a Naturopathic Physician have?
A: Naturopathic Physicians (NDs) have four years of Pre-Med Undergraduate studies, four years of Naturopathic Medical school, national board examinations, and licensing procedures. Many NDs complete a residency program, though currently not required for licensing.
Q: What will I experience or feel during acupuncture?
A: Most patients feel no pain during acupuncture. You may feel the needle pierce the skin, it feels like a mosquito bite. Other sensations that have been experienced are a deep pressure sensation or a shock sensation both which disappear quickly. Many patients feel an overall sense of relaxation during treatments.
